A day at Safari World

I have always heard about Safari World. It’s one of Bangkok’s tourist destinations, and I thought, I should go there sometime so I could include it in my blog.  Little did I know that a surprise would be waiting for me on the very first day of December!

A friend came to visit and guess what? she and her friends were going to Safari World, and they wanted me to tag along.  Now I had to make sure that “tagging along” also meant that they were paying for my ticket.  They did!  Happy me.

Safari World entrance

The walkway to the restaurant. Although those "plants" were artificial, they were a great help in giving us the shade we needed on that very hot day

Not very far from the entrance were these beautiful blue and yellow birds making melodies of their own

Those paddle boats/swans would be great for kids and families

The restaurant where we had buffet lunch

After lunch we proceeded to our boat ride

Taken inside a cave.. the artificial mist made our exit dramatic

While on board that little boat, we enjoyed the sights on the side of the "river". The safari music, the sight of these tribesmen made our safari adventure more realistic

Very impressive how they made these "animals" to be very realistic. They would even move their heads or bodies from time to time, and sounds would come out of speakers hidden in bushes. An ultimate jungle experience indeed!

The Dolphin show

"Spy war"– it was like watching a shoot for an action film!

Enjoying this very clever elephant!

Enjoying the bird show where birds sang, played tricks, did math, spelling and even played the keyboard!

We actually missed lots of shows because we arrived the place quite late already.  I am so glad I was able to go to this famous place in Bangkok today– it was one unexpected but a totally pleasant surprise.  I will surely bring the kids here.  I am sure they would have a blast!
