Hi! this is my newest blog, and I am sharing about the purples I have seen in Bangkok during the past week. I have always shared my purples in my other blog, and I am proud to say that I have never been absent in sharing my purples, week after week!

Sharing with you my “purple sightings” this week…

Pretty purple flowers in someone’s garden…

Purple “mollusk”  hung in Paragon Mall…

A restaurant by the road with Purple Umbrellas…

A purple lily by the roadside…

And this spectacular building with purple lights!

Before you go

… this blog is mainly about Bangkok so feel free to read on. And tell me if you wanna come for a holiday! Sawatdee Kha!

If you read Thai history, the city of Bangkok used to be so “watery” people actually rode on boats as their main transportation to get around.  That is not the case now, of course because Bangkok has grown into a mega city with lots of big roads and super high ways.

If you visit the floating market, you would have a glimpse of what it was like to live in Bangkok a hundred years ago.

I have ridden Bangkok’s river taxi from our place in Ramkamhaeng to Pratu Naam, where Bangkok shopping happens almost non-stop!  The second time I rode on one was when we went to the Grand Palace.

There are lots of advantages why you would want to take the river taxi instead of buses or taxis.  One, it is very cheap. For 19 THB you would go a long, long way.  You would pay at least 160 THB if you took the taxi.  The disadvantages?  The river doesn’t smell so good :) – and you have to be quick in getting down.  You are at least given 5 seconds to go down before they zoom off to another station.  No kidding!  So river taxis are for practical people who won’t mind the smell, the not so pleasant sights of houses located on the river banks and it’s for those who are quick! Are you ready for one smelly, quick ride?

They’re everywhere.  Food businesses thrive in Thailand.  If you want to live in a condominium in Bangkok, you’d be asked if you’ll be cooking.  Many flash condos don’t allow their tenants to cook.

This is really different from my home country where people cook to save on costs!  If you are in Bangkok and you starve, that’s just because you don’t have money. :)  But for as long as you have at least 30 THB (1 USD), you can enjoy a full meal!– that is of course if you don’t mind eating on sidewalks!

Ready for some Thai street food?  Get ready for some hot and spicy, tear-jerking experience!
